I'm Ray Aquarius — a visual artist, designer, and creator from Long Beach, CA.
I've been an artist my whole life. It's not something I chose so much as something that chose me. Over the years I've pushed my craft into just about every medium I could find — canvas painting, custom shoe design, apparel art, illustration, graphic design, and writing. Formally trained in graphic design, but the streets, the culture, and the hustle taught me just as much.
In 2002, I gave myself the name Ray Aquarius. It stuck — the way the best things do, unexpectedly and for reasons that are hard to fully explain. Before that I went by a few other names: BoneCrusher, KuroTaiyo, The Specimen. Ray Aquarius outlasted them all.
The things that influence my work are global — culture, human connection, emotion, contrast. I try to capture feelings that are hard to put into words. That's what the art is for. Humans, animals, chaos, beauty, humor, grief — all of it shows up eventually.
I grew up moving around a lot, but Long Beach is home. It's in the work whether I mean it to be or not.

I create original canvas art, custom shoe designs, apparel graphics, logos, illustrations, and concept work. I also write — poetry, stories, and narrative concepts for creative projects.
